Buganda Women Vendors Association was formed in 2020 to provide financing and networking opportunities to women vendors in Buganda Region of Uganda. The Association was established because in Buganda Region in particular and Uganda in general, women vendors are usually silenced, ignored and undervalued and are still excluded from the decisions that affect them, their families and communities and yet they play a key role in transforming communities. The Association supports, promotes, empowers and recognizes Women Vendors in the Region.

Membership to the Association is open to all women vendors in Buganda Region. These may be women market and street vendors. Membership is also open to women’s groups and organizations working for the empowerment of Women vendors in particular and women in general
